Francis was a brother of Charles so Jane was likely to be a sister of Elizabeth and clearly, she was alive in 1895 so locating her in the 1891 census in the area of Handsworth seemed to be the way forward - and it was - a 13 year old Jane is found in College Road with her parents: bricklayer William and Elizabeth both from Derbys. Looking for this group in other censuses we find Elizabeth with her parents only in the one of 1881 (where, contrary to all other censuses, her place of birth is given as Oakthorpe, Derbys.
