Spelling mistakes in 'Ancestry', FreeBMD 1911Census transcribed records have, in general, not been corrected in the 'Notes' sections given here - this is to aid researchers following in these footsteps. In some cases the mistakes belong to the enumerators who might have misheard the names and places given to them or may not have known the 'correct' spelling (often with little help coming from the person on the doorstep giving the information).

One particular spelling mistake that might cause a problem is that of 'Redfern' - the 1911Census index gives it as 'Redford' and elsewhere it appears as 'Radford'.
