Notes
General:
Ann's surname is based on three submitted, marriage IGI records - one of these has a different date. Another submitted record suggests that Thomas married a Mary Moore in 1806. Ho hum.
One problem with this bap record is that Ann claims to have been born in Stapleton which is about 8 miles away in Leics:

Info courtesy of Roger Ward:Marriage Notes (Arthur Ernest Ward)
Ethel was the eldest of six children with five younger brothers, two of whom were twins. Only three survived after WW1
The family moved to Fenny Drayton between 1901-1911, which as you may know is very close to Higham, and appear there in the 1911 census under Atherstone area.
It was at St Michaels Church Fenny Drayton on 17th March 1917 that Ethel Elizabeth Osborn married Cyril Chester, born about Sep 1886 in Armthorpe Yorkshire. Ethel became widowed 8 months later when Cyril was killed in action in France on 16 Nov 1917. Around this time she travelled to France where she worked nursing injured soldiers.
m: Ethel E Osborn & Cyril Chester Jan-Feb-Mar 1917 Atherstone 6d 855
Cyril Chester:
b: Armthorpe, Yorks.
res:Fenny Drayton
WWI: Royal Welsh Fusiliers 9th Battalion L/Sergeant 46275
d:16 Nov 1917 France & Flanders
Following her return she went back into service as a cook. By then her parents had moved to Higham to farm at Cherry Orchard Farm, which seems to have been demolished to make way for the houses built in Cherry Orchard, where incidentally many of my childhood friends and schoolmates lived, including those from the Mellor family.
As a widow Ethel Elizabeth Chester married Arthur Ernest Ward at The Register Office Nuneaton, Warks on 22nd Dec 1925.
Thanks to Roger Ward for this information:
