Marriage Notes (John MacSporran)
A quote from Laura Bowcutt:
"Great Aunt Emma was so beautiful when she was a girl. She was a nanny for the Fox family of Elmhurst Hall and went all over the world with them.
Edward VII went to Elmhurst Hall a lot and I have a story that when ever he was missing they could always find him in the nursery with the very pretty Nanny!
As she got older, well, I was always afraid of her, she always wore her skirts down to the floor and that pipe! Hilda gave me her umberella which is now a walking stick, every time I pass it I think of her."
