General:
Thomas b1793 had a son named 'Joseph' - that is clear from his Will (see Thomas's notes) - and from the census records he would have been born in 1814 but no corresponding baptismal record has been found. St.Peter's parish register does, however, record a baptism on 24 Feb 1814 for 'John, son of Thomas & Frances Beatrice Roden'. I think that it would be safe to assume that this is yet another clerical error and it should read 'Joseph, son of Thomas...'.

Rigonally & Faxton's records indicate that Josiah had been a clerk at the company from 1835 and in 1840 was sent to Georgia, USA to deliver documents from Eleanor Jones (nee Bourn) into the hands of (unknown) descendants of Ann Bourn. (source:originally part of the "Financial records D-NAJ/B 1848-1958" bundle at above link but due to be re-indexed).
